Solar Edge

Was asked to make multiple perspectives for the client.

Final design found the grips to be rather boring so I made an addition to the final design.

I just added in the client's symbol requests consisting of a four pointed star and I believe a Native American Symbol for sun.

Next up I had the grip wraps with cloth texture, added steel for the blade and changed up the darker portions with plastic.

Next comes the effect. Initially I kept the blade nice and shiny per the client's instructions but then I realized it's for a ninja so it should have darker color schemes. Hence the darker look to the overall weapon.

Now as this is a blade suited for a ninja I of course chose darker colors but the client also wanted some colors so I went with bright orange in honor of Naruto.

After initial sketch I made some modifications based upon client's request. To that end I replaced the grip, added some curves on the blade of the edge and made some decorations to the sheath.

Commissioned to make a Ninja Sword this particular weapon has a full katana grip but significantly shorter blade. In addition I created a simple sheath to go along with it.
