Prisoner 373

Once upon a time the creature known as Prisoner 373 was a Scholar Mage by the name of Thomas Iden.

A star pupil of Professor Franklin Thomas excelled at Biological Magic and would no doubt have made a name for himself if not for his attempt to combine humans and animal together. An act seen as an affront to magic and therefore grounds for arrest by the Imperial Council.

Sadly the attempt ended with the former pupil combining his own body with that of his pet lizard, destroying his form save for his distinguished blue eyes while turning the rest into a human-lizard hybrid capable of shrugging off traditional spells and escaping into the night.

Hunted down and captured by Imperial Hunters three days later Thomas was stripped of his name, his titles, and his magic before being sentenced to live out his days in Arcane Prison. His deformed face kept within a specially crafted mask designed to protect the other prisoners from 373's razor sharp teeth while the collar around his neck serving to prevent the former man from ever accessing his magic again.
